Arrowhead Winch Introduces BRADEN UCB12 Utility Winch Bumper System

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma  — Arrowhead Winch is proud to introduce a unique concept in winch bumper design with the new BRADEN UCB12, the next-generation solution for utility fleets looking to improve jobsite safety, productivity, and truck versatility. Engineered for medium-duty, Class 4 vehicles, the UCB12 combines heavy-duty pulling power with a built-in capstan extension—transforming the front end of a service truck into a multi-tasking work platform.

With 12,000 lb (5,443 kg) rated line pull based on the proven TR Series planetary hydraulic winch design, the UCB12 delivers the performance utility crews need for pulling conductor, fiber or communication lines; hoisting gear or equipment; setting poles; performing underground cable work; and more.

The UCB12 features a 3-position manual clutch that lets operators engage the drum, switch to freespool (neutral), or activate the capstan. The ability to operate the winch and capstan independently enhances safety and flexibility on the jobsite and sets the UCB12 apart from traditional bumper systems.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Safety First – Capstan extension reduces manual handling and operator strain.
  • Proven Reliability – Heavy-duty steel bumper construction and rugged winch gear train.
  • Fleet Integration – Optional bolt-on chassis installation saves time, cost, and rework.
  • Ease of Operation – Clutch handle in easy reach, with clutch itself housed inside for protection.
  • Serviceability – Unique removable bumper shell improves maintenance access; damaged shells can be replaced without changing the entire system.
  • Versatility – Handles cable pulling, hoisting, recovery, guy wire tensioning, vegetation management and more with one system.
  • Customization – Optional cone racks, tow hooks, tie downs, storage, custom branding, and paint finishes available.

“The UCB12 is more than a winch—it’s a productivity tool designed for the real-world demands of utility crews,” said Paul Hiltenbeitel, Director of Sales at Arrowhead Winch. “By combining pulling, hoisting, and recovery functions in one rugged system, it not only makes crews more efficient but also extends the value of every truck in the fleet.”
